Navigating Security With Your Pet
At DTW, pets must be removed from carriers before TSA screening. Carry your pet through the metal detector while the carrier goes through the X-ray machine. Leashes and harnesses should remain secured whenever possible.
Pet Relief Areas
The Atlanta airport has three exterior and seven interior pet relief areas.
McNamara Terminal
- The McNamara Terminal has two Service Animal Relief Areas, with one located post-security adjacent to Gate A-34 and the other pre-security outside the International Arrivals area (Lower Level).
Evans Terminal
- The Evans Terminal has three Service Animal Relief Areas. One is located inside the terminal, post-security across from gate D16. The others are outside the terminal, pre-security located at each end of the Departures Level (Upper Level) curb, in the grassy area.
